Product Videos “The Sustainable Label Family”

As our sustainable product portfolio regarding labels and sleeves for F&B has grown a lot in the last years it can be easy to be lost in translation…EcoStream, EcoFloat, EcoStretch?! That is why we created a series of short, modern and precise videos that outline the functionality of each member of the “Sustainable Label Family” – explain what makes them special and which packaging to use them for – glass, PET, HDPE bottles or PP containers. The animated part is followed by a statement by one of our colleagues – underpinning the essence of the product for the customer. The videos are also available without the statement at the end – for customer meetings, trade fairs or other occasions.

You can find the blockbusters here – enjoy: https://campaign.ccllabel.com/sustainable-product-family/. We will be sharing these on our social media channels in the next weeks, especially leading up to Drinktec trade fair in Munich in September.

PRSE Wrap-Up – what happened at the recycling show

The Plastic Recycling Show took place in Amsterdam on June 23 and 24, showcasing the latest technologies and innovations in recycling. While PET recycling is up and running and an established process, there is still discussion around high-quality HDPE recycling and no harmonized approach by the recyclers. Both – with PP and HDPE it is clear that food grade recycling will be the next big thing that HAS to come in Europe in order to go circular.

Another interesting area were new application possibilities for recycled plastic, moving away from the often-mentioned park bench to Children’s Sand Toys made and sold by Schwarz Group PreZero in their own Kaufland and Lidl Stores as well as high-end cycling saddles made from rPP and other household items that actually look pretty good.

FINAT Panel Discussion on the Changes Landscape after COVID with Günther Birkner

The panel discussion at the meeting of the label converters in Baveno, Italy this year was centered around the topics supply chains, sustainability, the war for talents and digitalization – no surprise there. The panel discussion was about an hour, so we shortened it down to the main Q&As featuring statements of Günther regarding CCL, looking back at the pandemic and giving an outlook to the future. This is the link to access the vide – please keep internal and don’t share with any external party as we only have the rights to share within CCL. Thanks!

EU Legislation / Advocacy: What is happening?

During the last annual meetings of FINAT and PETcore that both featured a speaker from the European Commission, it became clearer, that what was intended as EU Waste DIRECTIVE may become a REGULATION. The difference is that while the directive is a guidance provided by the EU that is then put into legislation by the member states, the regulation is binding and must be put into action in an equal manne by all member states. The goal is to harmonize the regulations in the EU, which would be a good thing to accelerate the movement towards a more circular economy for packaging and would force countries to take action regarding collection and sorting and recycling. Stay tuned!
