Once again the label industry got together in Vienna to get an update on different topics from supply chain, the brand owners perspective, the state of the industry and of course sustainability topics. RecyClass presented the latest changes in their „Design for Recycling“ guidelines in relation to labels. CCL is in a very good position to comply with these guidelines and shows that the developments of the last years were the right ones.

Preference for filmic labels over paper labels for plastic packaging
Preference for polyolefin-based labels for HDPE, PP and PET recycling (which both EcoStream and EcoFloat as well as the stetch sleeves are)
Preference for a low thickness label
Preference for non-bleeding inks – the inks and adhesives shall remain on the label
Labels should detach easily during the sorting and recycling process
