As some of you might have seen, a first draft of the “Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive” was leaked. This draft contains some regulations that might have an impact on the label industry so the official label association FINAT decided to act quickly and has issued a response letter. This letter was supported by input of CCL and other big players in the label industry to show one industry face to the European Commission.

Please see the FINAT brief on the planned regulation along with some explanation in the pdf document below. CCL will remain an active contributor in the industry response to the planned regulations that make little sense if you look at already ongoing activities of the industry to innovate and recycle and the “Design for Recycling” guidelines that were issued by the recycling industry and that are already in place.
